Cover Crop Suppression of Aphid

The effect of a rye cover crop on soybean aphid populations is being evaluated Specifically, research is determining whether cereal aphids present on rye in early spring attract and maintain enough aphid predators to suppress soybean aphids as they arrive in soybean. Soybean aphid populations will be compared between soybean grown with and without rye. Research replicated at several locations in MN.
