Locations

The University of Minnesota Organic Ecology program is supported and driven by several locations throughout Minnesota. The Reseach and Outreach Centers (ROCs) associated with the College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences (CFANS) offer researchers invaluable opportunities to conduct research under geographically specific conditions. ROC faculty often work with on-campus (St. Paul) departments and faculty to carry out joint research projects that focus on productive and practical results.

As gateways to the University, the ROCs uniquely serve the needs of the people living in their respective regions of Minnesota. University faculty onsite at the ROCs increasingly direct research and outreach efforts based on interaction and communication with producers and consumers. Additionally, the ROCs work hand-in-hand with the University of Minnesota Extension Service to support Extension’s mission of connecting community needs to University resources.
